On november 13, 2023, Csaba Nagy, the Liszt and Bartók prize-winning taragotist, was the guest of our school. The musical performance entitled "...Hej Rákóczi, Bercsényi magyar vitézek nemes vezéri..." was attended by about 130 pupils and 6 teachers. The unusual history, literature and music lesson recalled the history of the Rákóczi War of Independence, commemorating Ferenc Rákóczi II, ruler of Transylvania and the Kuruc heroes. The artist's light-hearted and entertaining presentation captured the attention of the students, who not only gained useful information but also enjoyed a musical performance. We learned that the taragot is an exceptional national treasure, a Hungarikum. At the end of the performance, the students joined in the singing, encouraged by the artist. We would like to thank Csaba Nagy for the interactive performance, as well as the Bethlen Gábor Foundation, the Apáczai Csere János Teachers' House in Miercurea Ciuc and the Union of Hungarian Teachers in Romania for their support in the production of the performance.
