2019 Ecology and local history
On 27-30 May 2019, the ecology and local history competition "The impact of human hands on the ecosystem of the former Lake Șuta and its surroundings" was held. The students participating in the contest organized a field trip to the former Lake Șuta under the guidance of teachers Ildikó Száva, Enikő Pásztohy and Szilárd Vita. They observed the vegetation on the site of the former Lake Șuta and the fauna (frogs, waders, etc.) in the adjacent fish pond. They studied the construction of the old dam and the suspected site of a leak that may have caused the lake to empty. Weeds and fungi were identified. The pH of the water in the pond was measured. The project was implemented with the support of the Municipality of Miercurea Ciuc.
